ONSIDE’s IMPACT

Launched in the fall of 2019, ONSIDE brings Nova Scotians together to catalyze inclusive innovation-driven entrepreneurship and create prosperity for our province and region.

We have never needed innovation-driven entrepreneurship more than we do now given the current global economic, health, and social uncertainty we are facing. Innovation-driven companies of all sizes and locations will accelerate economic recovery as they grow quickly, create jobs, and pull in resources that benefit the communities around them.

We know that good things happen when all people have access to the same opportunities and share in the benefits resulting from innovation-driven entrepreneurship. Collaborating with our stakeholders, ONSIDE helps create better access to these opportunities for women, rural, African Nova Scotian, and Indigenous communities, so that together we can build a bright and prosperous future for all.

ONSIDE is focused on creating sustainable shifts in the innovation ecosystem that leverage world class disruptive ideas and mobilize our community toward action. Although these shifts take time, ONSIDE’s impact is already taking shape. We’ve mobilized leaders in rural communities across the province to find their own solutions to economic growth; shed light on the level of inclusion in our innovation economy; fostered a learning environment on the trends and players in our ecosystem; partnered with others to increase capacity of potential investors, as well diversify the investment base in the province, etc.
