Our Organization
The Organization for Nova Scotia Innovation Driven Enterprise (ONSIDE) is a newly established Halifax-based non-profit focused on strengthening the Nova Scotia ecosystem for inclusive, innovation-driven entrepreneurship. The mandate of the organization is to Convene individuals and organizations in a network, building connections and fostering partnership within NS to advance the ecosystem, connect efforts within the ecosystem, to other regional and national organizations, and to under-represented groups in NovaScotia, to facilitate partnerships and share best practices, and Catalyze by building broader awareness and understanding of the IDE ecosystem in NovaScotia, celebrating success and mobilizing resources. Through these activities, ONSIDE will contribute to the increasing prosperity of Nova Scotia.

Innovation Research Specialist
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Innovation Research Specialist will be responsible for conducting research on topics related to innovation-driven entrepreneurship in Nova Scotia. You will have an understanding of research tools and methods, and are comfortable with sharing and collaborating on research projects. You are comfortable with conducting and presenting analysis in small groups. You may work with other partners such as universities, accelerators, government agencies in conducting you work and developing relationships. From time to time you may be required to leverage social media tools and outreach, and are comfortable with working remotely as may be necessary.

Potential Duties
Relationship building for innovation-driven entrepreneurship research (25%)
Developing, analysis and presenting research (60%)
Identifying funding and/or funding partners for youth special initiatives (5%)
Other duties as assigned and relevant to a start-up organization (10%)
Qualifications
High school diploma
Some post-secondary education
Interest in innovation and entrepreneurship
Preferred Skills
Excellent organizational skills and time management
Outstanding interpersonal, analytical, and communications skills; ability to connect with diverse and under-represented stakeholders across the entire ecosystem and beyond.
Comfortable working autonomously, remotely, as well as in team settings.
Other skills

Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Salary: $14.50/hrCommitment: 30 hrs/week
